About the race

Thanks for visiting our page! The Race the Rubeena is a unique community event, brought to you by the Rotary Club of Sale and based around the Port of Sale and Longford Swing Bridge precincts in the Wellington Shire, about two hours east of Melbourne.

The event comprises two separate running events: a 10 kilometre, flat, timed run which starts and finishes at the Port of Sale with a turnaround point at the Swing Bridge; and a five kilometre run which starts at the Swing Bridge and finishes at the Port.

About the course

After a 2020 we'd all like to forget, Race the Rubeena is back for 2021!

The 2021 event will be on Sunday March 28.

The 10 kilometre course will start at the Port of Sale at 7.30am  before heading north along the Sale Canal, continuing to Swing Bridge Drive, with a tunaround point just over the historic Swing Bridge.

This will be an 'out and back' course.

The five kilometre course will start at the Swing Bridge at 9am, head south and conclude at the Port of Sale.

The five kilometre run will still be the 'Race against the Rubeena.'
